Colour changing clam

    I got this little guy yesterday. Looks very different from the top vs. the side. Read a little and it has to do with the angle of the light reflecting of the clam relative to the source. Sure enough, if I shine a torch on it from the side it looks the same as from the top. Light reflecting straight back from the source.

    I haven't fiddled with the colours.

    its the glass changing the colours I believe

    I thought so but then it wouldn't change colour when I shine a torch from outside. As you move the light onto the clam you can see a distinct change in colour.

    I read a thread about clam viewing tanks with a 45 degree angled front edge on the top of the front glass panel specifically because of the colour difference. Still the same glass but smaller light source to viewing angle.

    Its the light angle, specially the blue light, if u look frm front u see from 1 angle, if u look from above u looking same direction as what light shines and u will see a diferent part of clam luminated... I read that on some site a while back ... But yeah ,that's just 1 of the many things that can cause colour change
