Welcome to MASA Coco, glad you joined. Do you have a tank setup or are you planning one? Do you have experience with marines?

    Hey Coco

Yes you can use natural seawater - ALOT of the guys use natural sea water (including me). There are 2 ways to go about using natural seawater - 1 -you ue it directly from the sea - with this approach you get all the beneficial bacteria (and offcourse the not so beneficial bacteia) in your tank - coarals and even some fish will love this. 2 - you store the natural seawater in a dark closed container for 2 weeks plus and then use it (not the muck thats collected on the bottom). Thiswater is more sterile.

Make sure from the start that the water where yoy collect is as clean as possible, youll have to ask the local guys to assist you here...

    hope this helps:slayer:

When you say directly from the sea you mean deep in the sea , or from the shore line . Thanks

i use both shore line and deep sea don't take anywhere close to a river mouth though not good unless the river has not been running for a long time and dont take water any place close to Richards Bay unless you want your fish to glow in the dark some times i buy some salt and mix my own water if i dont have time to go collect i see you are from Mandini not a good idea to collect there as well go to chakas rock
