Just wanna know ive got a 1.5m x700 x700 tank no overflow. Now I must decide on a overflow??? Is the best overflow coast to coast? The tank got 1 hole on the righthand topside can I build a box to overflow in and then runs thru the hole down pipe to my sump? Ill make a drawing and post it now!

It's a good overflow. Excellent surface skimming. What is the size of the hole. you must work it out so that your return pump not supplying more water that the return hole can take as this will make your overflow will flood and so your tank as well.

K no expert at tank building but heres the idea that poped in my head

Use existing hole for your return

Drill bottom glass and use a skinny coast to coast overflow

@Niel H wrote a nice article on overflow types. Have a look and see what suites you

@ raytone the hole is 50 mm!

@Toolboysa got a dubble glass on the bottom so it 20mm so I don't wanna drill it might crack.

A C2c overflow is great but you wont have to do it along the whole length of a 1.5 metre tank. A third of the length will be great and have two 50mm overflow pipes for a bigger return pump and incase one blcoks although mine have never blocked

Make sure the image size is not bigger than 1920x1080. I think that is your problem with uploading the pic.
