As long as you add a much larger, or much smaller clown to your incumbent clown you will probably be ok, but this will be down to individual fish.

If it were me, i would find one of markedly different size, i would expect some handbags, but monitor the situation, it will be a slight gamble but you will probably be fine.

Joe - How big is your tank? Also - do you have enough hiding spaces in your tank?

I have had 6 clowns for a long time, at one stage. 2 x Tomato's, 2 x False Percula clowns, and 2 x clarkii clowns. Only the one clarkii clown was a bit aggressive. Unfortunately marine ich killed off 3. I still have the 2 tomato clowns left, as well as one clarkii....

Some false / passive aggresiveness between them, BUT no real problems....

Another thing Joe - I think we can safely summise that your current clown is a female........ Clowns are all males when they are small, when they are on their own, or in a harem, then one changes to become a female. In the harem, you will have a dominant male, and the other sub-ordinate males.... When the female dies, the dominant male usually becomes the female.....
