switch off lights and keep the tank/room in total darkness. set your alarm for around 3-4 hours after lights out and then go and switch your tank light on. fish will be dazed and you can pick it up with your hand!

All lights must be off for a long time

haha bud i had to remove a tang on the weekend... was determined to catch him without a taking everything apart but after 30min I gave up and took all the rock out anyway. In the end was much easier - and I got to redo my scaping, haha! good luck!

I was thinking about doing this, but this morning when I walked past the tank, he was nowhere to be seen. I think he sleeps behind some rockwork...

Dude, that would be the last option. Getting those corals and LR out would be a mission. But if there's not other choice in the matter I suppose that's what I'll have to do.
