My guess is that it died during the night or got very weak and got sucked up against the pump. Did you acclimate them properly and what was the difference in salinity between the shop tank they came from and yours?

Hey wiley, what flow pump have you got there?
On my previous tank, i had to net my clown out of my sump almost dayly. Especially the occelaris clowns get themselfs into some rather tricky situations sometimes!
How much is your flow from the pump?

What was the salinity difference and how and how long did you acclimate it for?

    Salinity 1.025
Driped water in die bag for 20 min took half out driped again for 20 min took half again out and driped again for 20 min. So it took about 60min. All other fish are fine.

its a common issue with the tank bread clowns, they dont travel well, and like said above, the pump only sucks them if they weak, coz no matter how strong the pump is the fish always gets away.so if you want 2 clowns i suggest you get a new mait kwick coz clowns too become a little agresive towards its own kind if left alone for a while... good luck

    Sorry for your lose!

One of my clowns did exactly the same thing in the back compartment of my Boyu TL550 on Monday (watch your parameters as mine when aware 2 days later - Prime worked wonders!). I have now put egg-crating along the entire top of the rear compartments to ensure that no fish jump over the back again.

Maybe something similar would work in your tank?

I agree. Fish don't get sucked into flow pumps if they are healthy, only if they are sick or in their way out. Always check the salinity of the LFS and compare it to yours.

One store I bought from, their tanks were sitting on 1.030?!
