    Hi guys,

I need some help here with something strange.

I just got a new bubble tip over the weekend and my picasso clown discovered it and immediatelly started enjoying himself. Over the past couple of days I have noticed that the clown is not well. He is not eating at all and looks very tired. He is also having some black spots on its body which all happend after the nennie was introduced.

I dripped the nennie for 6 hours before adding

He was eating fine before I added the BTA though.

Could the BTA be the reason for this behaviour.

    Tank paramaters :

    ph : 8.2
    no 3 : 15 (a bit high :()
    temp : 28
    alk : 8
    running 9months now

I have not fed the nennie anything yet.

    Please help

It's weird that the clown's behaviour has changed and that it's not eating... The black spots are normal - it's hypermelanisation caused by touching the nennie. My three clown's had it when they started hosting my xenia, and got it again when they started poking around the frogspawn. It will pass.

That said evening when they were spotty my clown's still at like pigs. So perhaps there is cause for concern with yours. How long has It been not eating for?

Lets see what some of the more experienced guys have to say...

OK my guess is Oodinium, also very common with PBr's and PBl's. Look very carefully at the PBr, it may be difficult to see but will give an indication.

If the fish is breathing heavily and looks like it is covered in a little slime, indications are that it could be black Oodinium.

The spots that show on the PB pic's may be the cause. Try and get an experienced reefer that lives close to you to take a peek.

BTW how do the chromes look? any signs of blotching or listlessness?

Sorry for all the overwhelming questions bud, we just need to get a good idea of the issue.

No problem I understand completely. Thank you for the help. I really do appreciate it.
The chromes are doign very well. I have monitored them and the gobies as well just to make sure all is ok but they look fine. No heavy breathing and eating as well.

    Thanks again ;)
