    hi all

i have to Ocelaris clown fish which were bought together when they were less than 1/2 cm long. today one is about 4cm long and the other significantly smallerat about 2.5 cm

i came home earlier today and found the smaller nemo hiding in one corner of the tank near the water surface and the bigger one kinda watching it closely..
when i came back home now after work i coulnd't find the smaller fish.. after some searching i found it in the overflow box. i put it back in the tank an the big nemo started chasing it very agrresivly around the tank and almost like biting it. they would sometimes stand face to face and shake vigurously and then the big one starts chasing the small one all over the tank again.

ive had them together in the tank since February and this the firs time they do that the bigger one seems very aggressive and the small one ended up in the overflow again

big one is turning into a female
And little one should start to do the shudder dance to show acceptance of the others dominance.

They should settle into a loving couple soon.

I'm really not sure how long this process will take. My clowns has always been different sizes bought either as male and female, or a few months apart.

Maybe you can do us a scientific review and time this transformation period.

Sorry, I know my answers is not giving you peace of mind about the smaller ones safety. Sorry.

thanks Riaan at least I have some idea about what could be happening. I also thought about the female bulling the male but I didn't think it would appear so violent ..the male really looks frightened. they sometimes stand facing each other very close and shudder or just vibrate for few seconds and then the bigger one starts chasing the small one again.
