Hey all, I currently have 2 small True Percula clowns. They are in with two banana wrasses, a catalina goby and some critters ... all doing very well and getting along with no issues.

I am thinking of getting one or two more pairs of clowns but was wondering if this would be an issue. I am looking at getting a pair of Orange Skunks from a MASA member, but they are quite a bit bigger than mine at the moment. Mine are 3-4cms, these guys are about 6cms. I am also considering a pair of Black Clowns to go with.

    Any problems here ?
    - too many varieties of clowns?
    - potential fights ?
    - sizes a problem ?

I agree with @mandarinman . they tend to get quite protective over their personal space and as they grow that space grows bigger and bigger ...

my newcomer tomato clown wouldn't ever tolerate new coralfrags on the liverock , used to shove it off the scape ...

imo grown clowns are worse than Malawi's

How big is your tank? I have six percs in my tank and have no issues. I tried to add an extra pair and war broke out. Removed those. Clowns are damsels so when introducing do them together. You might find that it will be ok to add the skunks becauae they are bigger. Again, this depends on the size of your system.

You might have aproblem if your tank is too small. The only way you going to know is if you put them in. Be sure to have a backup plan though. Someone to give them too.

Mission to catch once in your display tank though.

Correct me if I am wrong but Catalina Goby's need colder water and do not thrive in warm water.

My tank is a 320 litre 4-foot ... so not too big. Think I will stick with my one pair of perculas. I got them very small (about 2cms) as the store said it would be best to get them small so that they would pair. They are great at the moment and get along with everything, especially the 2 banana wrasses which get greeted by them as soon as the arise from the sand in the morning :)

Yep, that's what I have read too. The Goby is not mine, it belongs to a friend of mine who has asked me to keep it for him for a while (time to get the guy back to his owner). My friend has a chiller that keeps his water at a constant 24-24.5 degrees so I think the Goby will be happiest there. My water is between 27-29 (no chiller at the moment) but the Goby has been perfectly ok for the 3ish weeks I have had him. Eats, swims and is merry.
