I have some clove polyps that are duking it out for rock space with some of my zoanthids. At first I was sure the cloves would win... now I'm not sure. The zoanthids seem to be holding their ground for the past few weeks. I thought about intervening (since I favor the zoanthids for this space), but then I figured it might be more fun to just get a beer, sit back and take bets... so what do y'all think? Who's going to win? (pics tomorrow)

I vote for the cloves, they grow much faster than the zoa's in my tank.

She had too many beers. Maybe I'm missing it but I certainly don't see any pictures. :)

Hey man, I'm up! bright eyed and bushy tailed! It's the zoanthids... lazy buggers are still "sleeping."

Oh btw... the zoanthids are actually growing up into the clove corals. It seems to me like the cloves are trying to stop them. Intense! lol

WOW Sara! That SeaLife is REALLY an AWESOME camera, hey!?!?!?
Planning on taking it for a "ACTUAL reef tour" sometime ;-) Perhaps down to Belize? Or perhaps even The Antilles?

AWESOME Pics! Congrats.

BTW: My thinking of this - th cloves will "overshadow" (literally) the zoanthids, perhaps making the zoanthids rethink their strategy....

That's what I'm thinking too... but I'm not sure because they're both directly under a 250w DE MH light. So it's possible that even in the "shade" the zoanthids might have enough light. I guess only time will tell!
