    Hi guys,

I have collected some shells from beaches recently for my hermit crabs. I have done the following to sterilise the shells:
    - previous 2 days: boiled the shells in tap water (6 times in total) for a few minutes each time.
    - today: boiled the shells in RO water and let it simmer for 20 mins

I used a Teflon coated pot for the boiling.

Are there any additional precautions that anyone can recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

Letting them stand overnight in a solution of unscented bleach, followed by a few rinses in water to remove the bleach smell would be sufficient.

What 459b said, use Miltons! You can afterwards rinse and soak in Prime as well to be sure.
