Hey guys I hope you all are well.
I am in the process of rescaping my tank.
The problem I have is that it looks like I have fur growing on my live rock. My tank has been running for over a year in total. Also when I rub the rock the fur type stuff comes off.
So my question is can I use a toothbrush and cleen my rock in a bucket of salt water.
    I hope this makes sense.

    Kind Regards
    Sean

I've done it few times. in fact I just brush the rock in my tank and filter out dirt in my sump.. I think the fur stuff is caused by too little flow. what we've also done few times is take the rock out of tank and put it in a large drum full of old tank water and use one of those inflatable pool pumps that have a very fine filter inside.. shake the rock while blasting it with Tue pump hose until the water in the drum is clear

    Thanks guys
I will try the brush way first.
With regards to flow I cant add anymore wavemakers.
    I am running 1×5000L/H and 2×3000L/H.
But when I bought my tank the rock already had the fur on it. Now its just bugged me to the point it must go.
So this weekend I shall do it. I just have to remove all my sps frags off the rocks so I can man handle them.
