Just a friendly reminder to clean your siphon break (the little hole thing at the top of your return pipe to break the siphon when the elec goes off) so your tank doesn't end up all over your floor like mind did last night... :(

Yeah fortunately my tank is basically only softies/lps at the moment and they are pretty hardy.

Hard luck china, I'm not sure what's worse the loss of the water of the hassle of cleaning up the mess. I should probably get one of those. Luckily when my power went off the DT drained up to the final 3mm in my sump before the siphon broke. Sjoe!

The mess hey. Fortunately no damage because we basically have tiled skirting so everything is "waterproof" except the wooden table and chairs. Was slopping towels around and ringing them out late last night, it kills your hands/back. Fortunately it must have only been about 50-70L that was lost. The tank was half full and the sump completely full and the sump accommodates quite a bit.

Always makes me wonder where all of the drained water goes? I mean, there's always a lot less mopped up water than drained water hey? I'll never have evil spirits in my possie..... there's a ring of salt around it.

Is your return pipe that low? I always kept mine just under the water surface and also had a siphon break. So for incase the break fails, not that much water will be siphoned more. Sorry for the sore back :p

My return pipe actually has a spraybar across the bottom back of the tank. It splits though and some goes through the chiller and I'm thinking now it must have stopped at the level of the chiller return. Maybe I should move that closer to the surface.
