Hi and welcome to MASA.... !

are the nennies "clones" of each other i.e. the exact same mother BTA?

I wouldnt worrk too much they will in all probhability pair up soon enough, host the nennies and may even breed. Remember that you cant have more clown fish !

I would take that advice with a pinch of salt if you will excuse the punn. A skimmer or a device that does a similar job (read ATS) is almost a non negotiable unless you are doing regular and large water changes, unfortunately a canister filter is also not what you need for marines and is generally used in fresh water only. There are many informative articles on MASA about starting out in marines, how to set up a sump etc etc I urge you to have a look at these....

A T5 setup for a BTA is fine provided the PAR rating is sufficient and the water depth is not too great, of all the anemonie species, the BTA is the least sensitive to light, most other species however do require metal halides as you stated

    Welcome to MASA!

How long has this tank been up and running?

Where are you located in the US?

I would stop taking advice from that LFS. Research everything before you purchase. You will save yourself a lot of money and frustration.

As Neil stated, canister filters are not the best option. A good skimmer is highly recommended. What is the height of your tank?

The reef sun 50/50 is a t8 bulb by zoomed and a bit of a waste of money IMO :whistling:, i started off with 3 of them and discovered t8's are no good for marine aquaria.
As Anemone said, don't rely on you LFS for advice, all they usually want is whats in your wallet:(
If you want the nennies to live in the long run, ur gna need to upgrade that lighting :)
