Please tell me what to do. My clarkie started about 5 hours ago spinning around the tank, now it's floating on the surface and then start spinning again. It's like something is chasing it. PLEASE HELP

I saw you upgraded 4 weeks ago to this Tank...
NEW 4ft TANK - Marine Aquariums of South Africa
I did not read thru it, but recall seeing that you were still busy building a Sump...I think...I do stand corrected.... How did you transfer...? LR, Sand and water from the previous Tank...?...sounds like you got a bit of a cycle going on and that you have ammonia in you'r Tank...did you Test you'r water...? What are you'r readings...ammonia being the most important...are you dosing something like Seachem Stability or something...?

Don't worry...many Experienced Reefers on MASA...they are sure to steer you in the right direction...

Yes i transfer everything from my previous tank. I dose it for 7 days with seachem stability. All the readings are good, ammonia is 0.

Found this on the Internet for you...maybe you could...just to be on the safe side...do a large water change...it sounds like it's something to do with the water anyway..so logically I'ld say, it's better to try and "dilute" whatever it is thats in the water...? Maybe someone else can give better advise and who also knows exactly whats the problem...:)

Are you using Stability on it's own...? or have you accommidated for the ammonia swing when you moved everything over...?

Use it on it's own. When i transferd i test the water everyday. All seems good untill now the clarkie freaks out.

It could be from the transfering to the new tank, but if all the other fish are fine I dont think its an ammonia problem as stated above...doing a transfer as you have done isnt really that risky if done correctly so all in theory should be fine in that regard...I would say you could have maybe injured it maybe in the move or not acclimatised it correctly or something along those lines, but the fact that its a week later is what confuses me...those are things that would have shown effects a lot sooner in my opinion...how long have you had the clown? I have seen this happen with many clowns in the past that were newly acquired.

I have to say though I think your clown now is too far gone to make a recovery, have myself never seen a fish come back once it gets to that stage I'm afraid.

I agree with Kunhardt. Fish which show that kind of behavior usually dont make it unfortunately :(

Regardless how many clowns have you got in your tank? Possibly moving to a new tank has caused a territory war to begin and some of the other tank mates have injured this fish? Not really sure but it could be another possibility.

Hope he gets better though sir

I think it maybe got injured in the transfer, maybe not acclimitised, I know PH differances can burn the gills, maybe infection set in and the fish cannot breath.

I have the clarkie for about two months now. There is a small maroon clown, a small yellow fin damsel, two cardinals and a goby together with the clarkie. Must i leave it to die in my tank or should i remove it?

The Maroon Clown and the Clarkii will give you problems...so it could have been injured by the Maroon...do you have a spare QT or another Tank to transfer the Clarkii too..?

No Belinda, I saw his tank two days ago. The clarki is twice if not 3 times the size of the maroon. Maroon is still a baby, like 20-25mm.
