I have noticed you running sales every now and then, could you maybe look into posting some pics which will answer so many questions which you could prevent from being asked.

Then it is simply a case of seeing the colour with a ruler next to it and we know exactly what we are getting before we are there, phone ahead and pre-book ;)

put up 1 or 2 web-cams you can move them around so people can see the new stock.

There is a plan, put a live cam or two up which is hooked up to your site...Or, to save the I.T. infrastructure, just posting pics works fine.

The flip side is that a pic (unless taken with super camera work with the right lenses and under brilliant lighting etc.) NEVER shows a coral (or fish for that matter) true beauty and colours properly so it does give negative advertising for the corals to a degree

    Hi Zombie clam & maj

I have moved my website service away from Atlantic to AFRIHOST & now the internet hosting as well, as with this provider I would not pay exorbitant providers fees for the usage. Some months it ended up been 8 gig's!!!

So now I can look into different ideas like your cam idea Zombie clam.

Posting photos is a pain, My time is already limited as it is and by the time I have taken the photos of all the stock, resize them & then down load them onto MASA & answering all the Pm's / emails regarding what is posted, some of them are already sold!!!

PS. Zombie clam - have not seen you for a while, all well?

Easiest way i found for a (tempory/now and then) setup is to setup skype with the webcam and allow any1 to connect and for skype to auto answer with the webcams pointed to what you want to show... lol (did this to spy on the nany looking after my baby girl for a while, jus to make sure all was well)

WOW - Yes look like this is a good option! I can change the view every now and then for all to see, just wonder what the viewable picture would look like under marine lighting?

You can set it up to take snap shots every 30 sec or whatever you like, so bandwith upload only needed every xyz seconds instead of constant streaming, you can even use this to monitor the shop after-hours if you like.
Quality depends on the cam you buy.

So I can actually link it to my web page?
The cam - yes I do understand picture quality = price and it is very important.

    Yes Moolis, you can.
I think it will work great when you are running specials, the cam can be setup to view the stock and people can see for themselves what is there.

Have you tried using photobucket because then you just load a whole folder filled with pictures and set photobucket to auto resize. Then it gives you all the pictures with the image code underneath them. Then you just copy paste all the image codes. So much quicker than using masa uploader.

Will definitely look into that option.

If loading pics was fast / very fast my posts would have been 1000's.

I take on average 3500 photos every month with marines representing +-1800 of these photos (separate hard drive 1 terabyte only for photos:thumbup:)

Sifting through them and posting them is more time consuming than taking and downloading them.:p
