SO I will be upgrading and I probably dont have the worst problem I could have :)

Which of the below skimmers will be best for this tank - 1000 x 480 x 820 , Its the 1M Aquaria tank.

white skimmer is the Aquaria skimmer -Sicce pump/ syncra sk600 - 2250l/h -

    or the reeftek skimmer -OTP2000 pump - 2000 l/h ,

    would appreciate your advice.

If you got space in your sump I would run them both....
I'm running a Shark SK-6 on my tank - RATING HEAVILY STOCKED SPS REEF 2000L on a water volume of only 600L

Im also leaning towards the TS2.

    So TS2 - 2 ,
    Aquaria - 0

the black ring lid inside the TS2 is upside down .

I would run one for a week, throw the skimate in a empty bottle. Run the other for the next week. Put that skimate in similar bottle and compare. But must be done with same bioload.

Another vote for TS2 - Looks like the TS2 is running away with this one:whistling:

would love to run both, would be able to for the first bit until I add a reactor or two.

Just read on this, I have read somewhere that running two skimmers in the same system (may) have a negative effect on each other (something to do with what skimmers does to the water "structure") and that the effectiveness of each actually goes down.

I wanted to run to small skimmers on my system for redundancy.

run both to see which produces a finer bubble in the skimmer chamber..ts2 is popular but I dont think the aquaria skimmer is bad too by the looks of it.wat type impellor does the sicce pump hav?

Not true. Run in parallel will add to your skimming power, thereby giving you the option of keeping sps. I have run a system with two skimmers for over two years,

I would not underestimate the Aquaria skimmer. That skimmer has a sicci PS600 pump with a needle wheel impeller. I told you it ran better than my new Reef Octopus Diablo 160.

I tend to agree with snoek. Both are nice skimmers, but I think the pump on the Aquaria is better... and the neck design a little more conducive to better skimming...

That said, Ive never used the Aquaria (had the reeftek on my first tank and it wasnt bad). Im sure both will do the job.

Thankss for the input guys, Im going to run both skimmers for a while and if I need the space, I will see which one gave me the best results.
@Snoek, your tank looked stunning with the aquaria skimmer and I also like the sicce pumps.

LOL I was quite interested to hear the american guy say that they all pretty much the same now with the new pumps that are coming out , and his measure against which other skimmers were judged was a cheap Chinese skimmer

I think your focus should be on the ability of the pump!
