hello i have a hailea chiller that is around 4 years old... i tested the water temp coming out of the outlet pipe (after 20 min runtime) and the water is 0.5 degrees cooler than the water going into it... is this normal? I have a hailea 130A chiller thats rated for 300l and i have around 250l water volume... the compressor gets fire hot, so bad u can only touch it for max 2 seconds. is this normal? please help... i need to know if u guys reckon the chiller is working fine?, if it needs regasing?, where do i go to fix it? thanks :)

Sound about right, the output temp would vary according to the flow of water though it.

Try turning off the circ pump off, so it only tries to cool the water thats within the chamber, you should see it glow down quickly on the LCD.

The compressor will get very hot, most fridges actually route the water from the drain (inside the fridge) to a bowl on top of the compressor, where it will evapourate from the heat.

Make sure the fan is running inside when the compressor is running.

Make sure the compressor switches of every now and then. The compressor can overheat if it does not switch off because it can not lower the temp enough. All compressors must switch off intermittently in order to work within the design specs.

I also run the helia chiller and it sounds like yours is working fine, as stated just make sure the cooling fins are kept clean and the fan runs.
