In Richards Bay there is one thing you need more than the glass to house your fish, and that is a chiller to stop them from boiling, already my tempreture is sitting on 26, I guess you can imagine that there is no need here for heaters.

With summer already here, I just want to make sure the chiller is ready to graft for another 9 months of hard labour, do I need to send it off (it is a Halia 500), or is there self maintenance? Could an aircon company just maybe regas it? Please give me any advice.

    Thanks guys

Maybe a good thing for the forum, more time for you to work on the tank for us instead of fishing, what was the coldest you ever saw your temp, I think mine was 22.9

Just remove the front cover, there is 1 screw at the bottom, and clean the filter. If you really want to you could remove the hole cover and clean the condersor coil/radiator and fan, but probably wouldn't need it, unless kept in a dirty area, as for re-gassing, this would not be required unless its not working, as the old saying goes "don't fix something that ain't broken"

Their really is no need to regas any type of refrigeration system, chiller included, its a closed system, and unless it has a leak, the gas stays in side.
