since I have been getting my tank up to standard I decided to redo the chiller piping and neaten it all up.

My chiller was feeding directly from the DT and returning directly to the DT. Not good I know. So I changed to to feed from the sump, after the skimmer and DBS.

What I have noticed though is that it runs for allot longer than it used to. The water temp is perfect and it maintains it but just runs allot longer.

Does anyone perhaps know why this is?

the flow rate of water thru the sump by volume is larger, thats my logical deduction

I am thinking I may just need to get a bigger chiller - mine I think is only rated for 700l!
that may of course be a contributing factor:biggrin:

my return pump is 4500lph so I think I may just burst the chiller - not designed for that flow I am sure - maybe just get me one of those boyu chillers a see around:whistling: they seem to be cost effective - of and ofcourse! with a new chiller must come a new tank - maybe a boyu 3mx800x800 should do! he he he I wish - got to get past the mr of home affairs!!!!!
