    marinetech are navel engineers.. i am sure its easy for them, besides, it doesnt compare to the design i posted for insump use , nawty thread derailment haha

    RLSS went extremely quiet not sure what happened to them, been speaking to the guys in Canada ?
    Those volutes have been around but never saw them take off ?

    Those open volute skimmer have been around for a while @dallasg... Even Reef octopus has a range of them...

    Reef Octopus is loading up on DC skimmers for 2013

    From what I read... It is more difficult to clean than the conventional skimmers, & the DC pump ceramic bearings gets stuck quite easily due to carbonate buildup.

    I still love the design though. I love it when people try something "different"! Keeps equipment evolving until something better gets invented from the evolution...

    I was looking at buying one a while ago, but decided to go for another Skimz.

    SKIMZ do it aswell, except they go further and have an oval reaction chamber!!!!!!!!!

    that skimmer still has the whole pump inside, this has just the impeller inside like a vortech
