    Hi Guys,

Just setup my first Marine tank, and gotta say everything is going better than i thought.

Tank was setup and started running last week Wednesday, tested this morning, and have zero ammonia and almost zero nitrates. way faster than i thought it would be.

Any way i wanted to bother someone for some cheato for my fuge.

Would really be grateful if someone is clearing up and can offer me the extras instead of throwing it way. :003:

I live in the Midrand area, but willing to take a drive for it.

Thanks in advance guys. will be posting some pics soon, to see what you'll think.

PS : Sorry if this is not the correct place for this post... still new here

AWESOME!! Thanks so much DallasG. you rock :yeahdude:

Well at the moment, I have LR, and theres corals that are growing off these already. Each day i see something new growing, and they just getting bigger and bigger, and at a very fast rate.

I took a chance and added 2 yellowtail damsels and a hermit on Saturday.. they are doing great. ( I know it wasn't a chance that should have been taken.)

The hermit has made the entire tank his home, travelling around looking for food.

The fish where still very "shy" at first.

but fed them for the first time yesterday and they ate with no fuss, and they're starting to come out more often from behind the rocks. So hoping this is a good sign that the parameters are good and improving...

let me know what you guys think.

well in the beginning you should test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph and phosphates
    keep ph at 8-8.4
    ammonia and nitrite at 0
nitrate and phosphates as close to 0 as these influence algae growth

okay, I have tested for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates... the figures are all dropping steadily, also added some clean water in to fill up for evaporation so I think that helped a bit.

Phosphates on the other hand i did not test for.

A quick question though, if the fish are doing well, will this still cause an issue later on or will the tank still complete the cycle as normal, and the fish adapt accordingly?
