cheato lighting

Guys what lighting could i use for cheato in my sump, will a energy saver work

I am using 1 cool white 1 warm white led spots

Not that I am aware of, I tried to fill the light spectrum as much as possible and this was the reason to choose the 2 different "colours"

I use a 20w red tube meant for freshwater aquarium plants. All my macro algae grow excellently under it.

So a cfl is no good and how long do you guys run your lights or do you only run at night when dt lights are off.

All day and night
Leds are cheap to run
Since adding both lights my growth has changed pretty rapidly

Cool so a just normal house hold led from builders will do although not get 80000k and 4 watt, as that's all i saw there today. 12v or 220v @DeanT

As far as I can remember I have the Ellie's led lights
Don't know the specs, wife collected them but got them from plumbstead electrical.

Don't think plants could be so fussy

Rather use dc, it's a bit safer. I used 2 led spots for a year and they worked well but the efficiency started dropping off so I replaced them with 4 led chips on a DIY unit.

Nice DeanT, found led's at game but no holders to plug them into so it's back to the drawing board till i can find holders as electrical places closest today.

Mine cost me a few $ but happy with the results
I got some light fittings from shop and just mounted them above the refugium

Ok i found a fitting and bought 1 led light 4 watt and installed its a cool white as i found warm white very dull.
