SO after selling ALL my livestock and almost my complete system, I decided against it. Just lost too much money selling my livestock and would've lost a ton more on my hardware. SO I've decided to start over.

I kept a few pieces of live rock and a rock with some shrooms on it. This ran for about a month before I took the plunge.

So the new plan is to stay away from SPS even though my previous setup was sps dominated. I am away for too long, too often with work. I'm also staying clear of tangs. Plan is to only keep lps, softies and my 2 nennies. Have a purple tip and a long tentacle(hope I ID them correctly) currently in my tank. (Tank has been going for a couple of years)

List of fish: 2 x tank bred black clowns , 5 x chromis, 1 x diamond watchman goby, Emperor angel and coral beauty. Will add another really rare fish or 2 in the future. Dont mind the higher bioload.

For hardware I am adding 2 x tunze 6095s with a 7092 controller for flow. Have upgraded my return to a red devil dc 3000 and my skimmer pump to a red devil dc3000s, These dc pumps are awesome, energy efficiency and also very silent.

Lastly, I am getting rid of my leds and I will only be running ATi T5s.

For filtration I am going bck to my old faithful, Purigen and phosguard with carbon added when needed.! Also have chaeto in my sump.

So that's all for now. A couple of pics to follow. Not that I have much in the tank!

    or a restart.

I'm away for work a lot as well. Especially 2013, been away for 27 weeks in total. My system is mostly softies. they do not mind the little bit of nutrients either. Actually they are striving. I got 2 acans, one open brain and one pipe organ coral. The rest are all softies.

Yes @RiaanP, this work thing. Lol. But with some of the things ive learned from Masa over he last few years, ill be able to have a low maintanance tank focusing on some easier to keep corals and fish. Ill probably be away from home for more or less the same amount of weeks this year. Keeping sps etc just adds to the stress.

You have exactly the corals i plan on keeping. Big thanks to you, ive learned a lot from MASA and especially you and a few other memebers over the last few years.

That is why the forum is here. To help each other. To learn from each other.

Without forums you would have packed up and left this hobby. Now, you are re-starting. :m106:

so its been about a year since I have restarted this tank. cant believe it. Also been a little quiet on the forum which I will hopefully have a bit more time for.

Lots have changed since then. Replaced my skimmer with a bubble magus and I also upgraded my
lights to a Zetlight 6600 which I am so happy with. Return pump I also replaced with a Tunze so I am
super happy with all my hardware.

some updated pics below, not the best of pics, but its there :
