Ok, so after having my boyu tl550 for 3 years , i finally upgraded to an Aquaria 1m.
Size - 1000 x 480 x 820.
Sump size - 1000 x480x740.

Aquaria skimmer - sicce pump. Not sure what it's rated for,but works great.

Filtration - chaeto , purigen , phosguard and nitrate-r .

T5 and diy leds for now. Will finish diy led build when i get time . Hopefully this weekend.

Stock - mixed reef. Mostly sps,lps and a few softies .will only be adding sps further.

Fish - my 3 year old clown fish pair, 2year old cleaner wrasse and colour blenny.
Will be adding mostly small wrasse ,maybe a flame angel and a few gobies . But i am going to stock carefully and slowly. Want some different fish.

Upgrades to flow pumps to follow when the wallet recovers.

Now for some really bad pics.

Hi Charl that tank looks amazing. Where did you get the tank? Spd looks happy for 2 days old. The sicci pump is the same as my Reef Octopus 160 diablo INT and that's rated for 900L. Can't wait to see this tank in person once the LED is done. Thumbs up for a good looking tank mate. You must love the space you have now.

Tank is looking great. Those Aquaria units are so nice. How about a FTS from a bit further back to show cabinet. How many flow pumps do you have in there?

It is amazing how much extra space there is!

Are you going to add an anemone?
@2balive - I will definitely add a nennie, hopefully soon. Im also planning on adding a mandarin pair. Have tons of pods from the live rock I added from the TL550. Had 3 years woth of pods on it. Ive successfully added pods from the local pools here so am busy boosting the population.

Thanks @SeanR

Thanks @Snoek and thanks for all the help. We will definitely have a beer or 6 once the LED build is done to celebrate our upgrades :lol: Sean, I have one problem, I AM RUNNING OUT OF SPACE ALREADY.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: just kidding. loving the tank.

I will try take a few better pics this evening. WIll get the cabinet in as well. I have 5 flow pumps in there. I love my strooooong flow. They are positioned so that the sps get most of the flow with the softies on the right getting less. I will be upgrading the seios/sun sun pumps with 2 more Tunze's. Love my tunze pumps. So I will probably have 4 flow pumps. Its easier to minimize dead spots with more flow pumps. Or thats just my opinion.

Looking awesome Charl...
Thanks @MistaOrange, appreciate the kind comment

Looking good
Thank you @Gareth0508 . Loving the tank.

So I tested the water last night and all params were pretty much the way I want them .Ca and MG a bit low so will be raising them over the next few days.. PO4 and NO3 were very low so all happy. Will be keeping my bio load to a minimum for now so will not be adding any fish. Thats the plan for now. Luckily there is no temptation here in Hermanus as we dont have a lfs with marines. But we will see. Also ordered the parts and will be building a DIY dosing system. I will also be doing a DIY phasphate reactor. Ive gotten into this DIY thing and enjoying it. Adds to the challenge and keeps my hands out the tank.

I can help with a DIY UPS that will run that entire tank for 24 hours.
I think many reefers would want to partake in this offer. Why not start a thread on it if you don't mind sharing ;) as I would definitely be on the look out for that thread.

My diy LED start -

Bought LEds like this - My soldering skills are not too bad and they worked out half the price -

This is one of the bars -

No optics on them yet except for the brighter one on the left. This is 20 X 3w led .

White - 6500 k - 219 lumens ( will confirm later)
Blue - 465nm
UV - not sure, will add when I get home.

I have 9 Blue, 9 White and 2 UV per bar.

I will be adding 5 of these bars with a total of 100 X 3w LEDs .
Optics -60 degree and a few 90 degree.

I am running these leds at 80 % . Leds in series-parralel arrays.
Ran my TL550 that way for 18 months + without any issues.

@Snoek, I will definitely take a couple of pics tomorrow and post. Tank is looking great and livestock healthier than ever. Think the setup is 3 weeks old today. Still a few diatoms, but nothing major. Still deciding on the fish I would like to add, but only selective few to be added. Lots of research to be done.

Will post a proper update tomorrow.
