    Hi Hennie

I need some advice - I need to move my tank to another spot in the lounge (the wife has decided it will look better over THERE....:whistling:) which is fine, my only problem is that the outlet pipe from my overflow is on the side of my tank; the gap in the alcove is not big enough to accomodate the tank + outlet pipe on the side. If the outlet was at the back that would be fine.... so my question is can I drill the tank? It is a 32mm hole. If so, where would be the best place to get a circular drill bit suitable for glass?

My previous thought was to just get a hang on overflow but the only one I could find was R1100. I'm no genius at DIY but I can make stuff (I built my own system) however at this point in time I don't really have time to make my own. If it's impossible to drill the tank then I guess I will have to though.

Anyway, any advice you can give is much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Dan

I got a diamond tip hole saw @ Builders for R140.00

It has to be a hole saw thats made for cutting glass or else it WILL crack the glass.

that's awesome thanks viper. my glass is 6mm. just wondering how I will clamp the wood as a guide... i wont have the benefit of an open edge nearby as the hole will be at the bottom of the overflow.

You don't need to use a template, I just felt a bit safer using one, here's a video clip of how it's done, note how he starts at an angle.
