My chaeto used to double in size in 1 to 2 weeks warranting a harvest evety 3 weeks or so. Lately it is not growing at all. What gives?

Is it possible that u have very little nutrients in the tank?
Or perhaps started carbon dosing or use of new bacteria?

the light is a 50 watt downlighter. I have re-started carbon dosing and with nutrient levels all zero this could be result. But the cyano is still there!!! :(

make ssure ur chaeto bush is not too dense so it gives space for more to grow, then basic maintenence, clean ur light tubes and globes from salt creep, it cuts light outpu by up to 70%! and try dosing iron

I had cyano, blacked the tank out for 3 days and it dissapeared (along with syphoning some out before the blackout)

Im not sure, but the chaeto in my sump isnt growing the way it used to. I know the nutrients may also be lower, but i removed a lot of cyano out of the sump, so i reckon it has some effect on the chaeto. I HATE CYANO. Ever since the blackout ended my pin cushions havent opened - a week ago.
