It's most likely gone sexual ..... Seriously.
It has a tendency to release gametes etc. when nutrients drop low. It can actually kill off a tank. I witnessed it once in :) like a white cloud

Do you have a good skimmer? Check with others but I would remove the leftover bleached stuff ASAP so it doesn't rot and of a WC too.

.... I just saw the pics. Mine went completely white but I still think the same thing.

The caulerpa does brilliantly as it has nutrients but as they deplete it does a last ditch effort to save itself. Let's see what others say.

Thanks I will remove it just now I don't wanna lose my tank so early. I will put it in one of my smaller tanks and see if anything happens with it.

The pics from your tank or refugium? If they are from your tank, you should celebrate, not be asking for help. Yes there will be some nutrient release, remove as much of what is now in the tank as possible.

How come? To avoid it happening again or is there an upside to it spawning? Honest question, I can't think of how to word it without it sounding cocky.

No problem with asking, don't see it as cocky, also grew it once in my tank ;)
Heres my reply to another thread regarding the use of this insidious macro algae family. Different topic but my comments are relevant here too i belive:

Another factor often overlooked regarding algae:
It traps detritus within its matrix, preventing removal by mechanical filtration... Quite clever "strategy!" As the detritus decomposes, the algae takes advantage of the nutrient proximity to grow even faster... Viscious circle.

Thanks, I had no idea about the toxicity
I thought the worry was always it physically overgrowing corals and spawning.
    Something new everyday :)

Derail over glad you have come right.

What Ivan said. To prevent them going sexual, regular trimmings and 24 hour light period. If, it's in your sump.
