Do you have a perspex catch box? Put your cleaner magnet on the door and keep the door open with some nylon. Put some brine shrimp in a test tube or similar at the back of the box and wait for the clown to enter.

I got 2 glass panels. That just fit in under the tank bracing. But they are not as wide as the tank front to back. If tank is 600mm front to back, then use panels that is between 350 to 400mm wide.
I use it like a glass sliding door. Both panels next to each other against front panel of tank. With some space open at the back. I check that the fish I want is on the smaller side and then I slide the "door" close. Trapping the fish on one side of the tank.
Then I only need to take part of the tank apart.

Helps when your rock scaping is in islands. Or you can easily make it into islands.

Clowns are normally not difficult to catch using two nets, especially at night when they sleep.

The clowns are quite small ,I think I will try your trick with the two glass panels Riaan and see if it works.

Thanks Riaan your trick worked like a bomb,I used two pieces of ceramics to corner them in a third of my tank Then simply removed some of the carals and rocks and caught them
