    Hey guys

    Just want to get some advice and hints on how to catch my tang, because I introducea copperband in my tank and the tang keeps on attacing it. I tried with nets for an hour but nothing.

    Paul - the best way would be to try and get hold of a fish trap. Bait the trap, and then let it do it's job. (Use bait that the tang would go for, of course).....

    Paul, I suggest re-arranging your rock work. Your Tang has become terrortorial, by moving rocks around, it will help him calm down as he will feel he is in a bit of a new environment.

    Try What Meks says, should work, if not try catch at midnight with a torch when the lights have been off for a few hours

    Go with the attempt at catching after dark, everything is laid back and twice as slow as usual - rockwork certainly plays havok with any attempts to catch fish, regardless the time of day, let us know if you have caught him or reworked your rocks

    I found one method which worked was for someone else to gently herd the fish toward the net (use something thin and long as to keep hand out the water as best possible) and when close enough, lower the second net behind so that you have a better chance - will still put up a proper fight to keep from being caught but you at least have a better chance.

    Paul, I got a fish trap at home.
    Under the bar counter. Just phone up my wife and organize, if you want to use it.

    Or try to do some rockwork movements, so Tang must find new home to defend.

    Or slide in a glass piece, to make the escape place smaller. A lot easier to catch then.

    Nope, I am still trying but no luck. The trap is in again with brine shrimp to make them use to it until the lights go on then maybe something.

    Make use of two nets
    1 bigger and the second smaller!!!!!
    Very important, the fish shouldn't feel targeted, go very very slowly so that not to stress it.
    Good luck:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

    Paul - rather try nori, or something the tang will indeed be more interested in eating. Tangs MIGHT take brineshrimp due to their pig-like hunger, but it is not their standard / default diet....
