You'll need as large a water container as possible. A cooler box is fine for small fish. You can buy a potable, battery operated air pump and airstone from you LFS.
You can get a permit from the post office. If you collect urchins, moluscs etc, get a permit for that too.

Take a book with you to identify anything that you catch. That way you won't end up with a 4m fish in your tank.

    Good Luck!

    Just look for rockpools.
If there are pools or gulleys there are fish.
Dont make any assumptions are to what are good or bad pools, check them all out.

Only pools I generally dont find good fish are those populated with those horrible brown agro damsels.

When I was there last year I saw some nice clown tangs and raccoon butterfly fish but did not know how to catch.

    Hi CJT,

I am heading down there tom to see what I can get for my tank. I know of the pool that you are talking about. There is usually some really nice fish in it but you are going to need to get in the water and use the conventional plastic net etc to catch the rarer fish. The water is dirty in Durban at the moment. I am hoping that it will be a little cleaner down there.

Anything specific you are looking for?

Maybe I can give you a hand.

    Thanks,
    Lance

    Hi CJT,

I am sorry for the mistake man. I was suiting up at the beach and I told my gf to please sms you from my phone and I was wondering why I hadn't met up with you yet. Then on the drive back home I asked her if she smsed you and she told me that she sms'd someone else on my phone.

I am very sorry for the mixup.
