Cataract 4800 protein skimmer

    Hi all

    Found a cataract 4800 protein skimmer and info on the web is almost non existent. Does anyone know anything about the brand ??? The shop no longer has marine tanks and no one know much on it and need to know What size its rated for etc ...It's on sale for R1390.00 brand new and need advice

    Never heard of it, my philosophy, cent wise, rand foolish. If you haven't heard of it and can't find any info on it, I think it's safe to say that it's not a reputable skimmer, rather buy the best skimmer you can afford, it's one of the cornerstones of a great system.

    Ask yourself this. Why does the shop no longer have a marine section?

    I saw a skimmer with a cataract system once, it's basically a post pump ventry system, ie the ventries are built into the skimmer body. generally these systems are more trouble than anything.

    Btw, it is manufactured by Queen, and it is not bad Skimmers, mostly used in Brazil etc

    I must be honest, it doesnt look very impressive, would choose a reef octo anytime
