Card Fraud!!!!

Hi guys. Just got a rude awakening this morning, somebody kindly cloned my card and decided that I need to purchase things that I don't want! Yep now I am officially apart of another south african statistic. Someone cloned my card and bought something worth R6300 and then tried to purchase another item of R43000.00. Luckly I cancelled my card in time and the transaction have not being processed yet, so still in my account but unable to use it! So word of caution, DON'T LET YOUR CARD OUT OF YOUR SITE, even for a few seconds.

Well I only used my card twice on Friday so it is either at the FNB teller at the mall or the McDonalds drive through where my card was processed through the window. Spoke to a guy at FNB and he recons that they have had card cloning problems at the teller where I drew some cash but to be honest I didn't see anything funny at the teller. It just takes a couple of seconds and your card is cloned.

Be careful at petrol stations as well ... Never let your card out of your sight, let them bring the machine to you.

I always make point of not losing site of my card but just the one time that it slipped my mind it HIT ME BAD. Lesson learned, need to be vigilant in the future.

Luckily FNB reacted swiftly and refunded my money back into my account. Investigation still pending but awaiting the outcome. Be aware guys, I was lucky to get off without losing anything others aren't.
