Aiptasia anemone, pest, you need to kill it by injectimg with either lemon juice or aiptasiaX that you get from your local fish shop. They spread very quickly and will kill all corals they are adjacent too.

Buy smallest syringe and needle, two millilitre syringe, and inject it right into the oral disk, you must be quick!

You need to inject the lemon juice directly into the aiptasia. Getting some AiptasiaX would probably be a better bet though, works like a dream.

The trick is to kill it without letting it release any spores. Aiptasia x by Red Sea has been the most effective for me.

Yip definately aptaisia! Kill it now otherwise you will sit in the same situation as me. Currently have a lot of them in my tank and just getting more by the day. Dunno whether to get some peppermint shrimp or to just use aptaisia x. Sorry if this sounds like a thread hi jack! Goodluck

Peppermint shrimp and Copperband don't all eat them so it's still a gamble. Aiptasia X definitely works.

I had a look at you'r other pic's...if those are the only LR you have in you'r Tank, then I'll suggest you remove the rock and chisel it off...best way for me was to break the rock and remove the piece with the Aiptasia on...for me anyway..:)..

i know most ppl like a copper band (altho some think it cruel to keep a fish purely as a countermeasure) and mine is fat n healthy grazing continuously. i also have a banner fish n for me the most voracious aptasia control i've ever seen! i moved a beautiful pin cushion from my son's cube into my 1000ltr, there were 3 massive aptasia stalks on the lr base, in less than 10 minutes the banner had polished them off n i haven't seen em since... btw. both fish are more than 2yrs old.

i couldn't find AptasiaX in LFS, i took the rook out of water then i just squeeze lemon juice in Aiptasia and wipe it out of the LR, i washed it with clean water then put back LR, and will wait for few day. hope this will work. will update after two or three days.

This is to update that the coral and LR which the aptasia found on is fine. I do not know if in later stage this pest will show up or no.
