i was at builders today and saw they have playpen sand, but upon inspection of the sand it was soo fine that it felt like powder in my hands, im assuming its the play sand we buy from reggies( which is a bit damp )

can this still work for my DSB ?

Yes it can work. Keep it about 15cm thick and wash it like mad

i see no reason it wont as in time little goggas will be burrowing into it allowing just the right amount of water containing minimal oxygen levels at a time to enter the bed and cycle through it.. agree with tony though i would give it a thorough wash to ensure it doesnt turn to clay..
