    Hey guys,

I have a 2ft tank at the moment, but will probably upgrade to a 3ft sometime in the future. I am also about to upgrade from CFL &T8s to T5 lighting.

Can I run 24w 2ft T5 globes off a 36w ballast? Found a place to get dual 36w ballast for a very good price. I have searched everywhere but I cannot find someone that stocks a DUAL 24/36w interchangeable ballast!

    Thanks!

Can be done Dane, but the life of the tube is reduced as the tube is in overdrive

thanks guys... any idea on how bad this reduction would be? Trade off of getting a dual 24/36w brought in from joberg or durbs...

On the flipside... the lights should be brighter if they are being "overdriven", so even if the globes die a month or two earlier, if they're at least a bit brighter than they wouldve been otherwise its not so bad?
