Can I keep this Coral

    Hi

    I would like to know if I can keep any Euphyllia - Torch, Hammer, or Frogspawn
    in my Boyu TL 550, it has Double 50/50 2x24W power compact lighting.

    the tank has only been running for +/- 5 months now so lights still fine

    I will also be upgrading to 1.8 meter soon...

    Which one would of the 3 would be better/nicer in your opinion warr??

    All three are great, try find one of the colourful green ones

    There are some nice hammer corals, bright green with pink tips :)

    it all depends on what you like, I myself love the torch and hammer, but dont like frogspawn...

    Why once a year Warr? I have the same tank, & I'm still busy setting mines up...

    the light intensity goes down over 6-12 months..pl tubes tend to last bit longer than t5's.

    All great corals, just beware they take strain if nitrates rise and calcium or carbonate levels drop below requirements!

    maj not sure why poiro doesn't like them, but the only con i can mention about them is because they develop very long sweeper tentacles for feeding, it could make placement a bit tricky

    oh ok,heard about the sweeper tentactles which could pose a problem with nearby corals.Mayb just get myself a hammer or torch....when u got ur setup ready

    maj both torch and hammers do the same (most Euphyllia sp), just depends on your setup. I vave kept all three in the same tank without any issues

    Will be probably go for torch or hammer...both once I upgrade to a bigger tank ... (eventually)

    The reason I dont like it is purely aesthetic.

    I dont like the look of the polyps.... hammer and torch for me please :D

    Same reason I like the torch and hammer more... dont like the appearance of frogspawn that much
