Reef Octopus, Tunze, Schuran all do overflow boxes, or check under our Links section, I'm sure there are a couple of links there on how to DIY one.

There is a nice design on a Philippines forum posted somewhere. I'm using the concept on my tank.

I need to look for that link.

But here is another on the same concept

Agreed, My 5ft is p and running, albeit not full but I've build my overflow box and I'll be drilling it as soon as I get the drill bit. Only hassle is its kind permanent. Make sure its what you want. Good Luck

Standard overflow boxes only work if you dont have euro bracing on the tank. If you do then the only way is to drill the tank. Really not that hard to do. The only consideration is whether to make overflow boxes on the back of the tank or a center/corner overflow where you drill in the base?

bruce for this to happen you would need to drill holes through the side pane

then you could do one of 2 things:

build a box inside to allow the water to skim and plumb piping to the holes

ORbuild a box both inside and outside (inner one for surface skimming and outer one to house Durso stand pipes etc..

it would be far simpler to put 1 overflow box either in one of the corners, both of the corners or center back..
