Need some advice, here are my water parameters that I can measure. Everything looks good except the calcium level. It shows low, I added Kalkwasser in a couple of weeks ago and it did not increase the level. I made up the mixture and used a drip line to add it over several hours. Not sure why it did not raise the calcium and/or how important it is to push it to 400... Has anyone had a similar issue or am I doing something wrong, like not making the dosage strong enough?

    PH 8.4
    NH3 0
    NO2 0
    NO3 0
    Ca2+ 17 - 18(360 range) Should be 20 - 25 drops = 400 - 500

I do not have the test kits for Mg and Alk... do you know that the complete list of the most important tests are? Sounds like I need to add these 2, but if the PH is in-line, should the Alk be ok?

Have to agree with butcherman you will have to check your Mg(Magnesium) as if this one is too low you will stuggle to get your Ca up. The tests you should be running

    PH - 8-8.4
    Salinity 1024 - 1026 (Reef) 1026 is border line
    Temp - 24-26
    Phosphate (Po4) 0 - 0.02
    Nitrate (No3) 0 - 5
    Ca (Calcium) 380-430
    Mg (Magnesium) 1300 - 1350
    Alk (Alkilinity) 7 - 12 dkh

This is what I would aim for

Ammonia and nitrite you only have to test when you are in you cycle or is something realy goes rong in your tank. There are more tests on could conduct but would only suggest them for the more advanced aquariust.

Kalkwasse is a daily addition, you dont just dose it once and everything is within spec.

Simple, if you can not raise calcium, your magnesium is by far to low. A lack in magnesium will never allow an increase of calcium to the desired level.
The magnesium test kit will cost you 300 something bucks.

Thanks Lucky, was able to pick up a test kit for $24 at Big Al's, looks like I am low (first test was rough, waiting for more blue when it was blue/purple, but it never did get to the blue that I was expecting so, the blue/purple is the colour I was waiting for) so I am bringing it up, looks like I can hit it 2 times per week until the tank gets to 1300 - 1350 (thanks Pete)
