CA is high

    Hi all
    i tested my CA tonight i its sitting @ 580mg/L will this course problems and should i leave it to deplete

    It will be a problem as it will reduce your waters ability to hold kh and thus will pull your ph down.

    Just keep an eye on the PH as noted
    Else, let it be, over reacting most likely will cause more of an issue.

    But the question is, how did it get that high?

    kh is @ 5 now i did not have time to test the Ca and ph again

    ah dont worry, it happens, and you dont have very sensitive corals. Just carry on as normal and with your regular water changes. After a month it should be fine

    i am doing a water change this weekend what % should i change the tank is 300L

    Are you perhaps using seachem salt, there is another thread where guys are experiencing high Ca as a result of using seachem salt

    i did see that thread but i am using Red Sea i know its my falt because i think i over dosed the tank

    calcium chloride then just watch your kh bring it back up 7-9 with a buffer and calcium will work its way down
