How do you install a bulkhead fitting once the hole is drilled? Is the O ring enough of a seal? Do you need to glue it? Is one O ring enough? Do you just tighten the fitting and it doesn't leak?

Use a small amount of marine silicone

    Marine silicone usually works.
I usually buy an additional o-ring that is smidge larger than the original one so there is 2x O-rings side by side. Just as an added precaution.

LOL, if done right, YES! (& if the buldhead is PCV. Some plastics do not stick to silicone)

use bostik marine silicone, apply generously to both nut to be tightened and flange of bulk head, tighten with even pressure...

if applied properly works every time.. try make sure the hole size and bulk head diameter are as close as possible, allowing maybe 1 - 2mm play for the thread .. the tighter the fit the less chance of leaks...

different ways to do the same thing. I use silicone layer, in and out and on the thread.

Do not over tighten it. By hand only.

rubber washer at inside of tank, and not at the nut side.
