Some things are not worth going budget, I've a few reefers asking me about their RO systems taking 4-6 hours to fill up 25L with a poor waste ratio, only to find out that these system were bought new for under R1000, Just beware and don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

I would recommend you buy your RO unit from a recommend dealer (Ask for Dow - FILMTEC) and once connected up at least you know the water your are wasting is optimal and not unnecessary wastage due to cheaper inferior kit you are using.

    Hope this helps.

Brand new? That is worthwhile. NOPE

Maybe secondhand, but then the filters most likely needs replacing. The carbon and micron filters are cheap, about R100. But the filmtek membrane is not cheap.

agree with andre......too many worthless machines being pushed on the market....
many pushed onto members here on the forums.

if the membrane doesnt say Dow-filmtec....with authentic holgram and coded packaging....its not filmtec.
and a sticker on the outside of the membrane saying fimtec inside.....is not filmtec either!!!

if you want good water use filmtec or hydronautics membranes....anything else...worthless
