Hi guys....my bta disc is bleached but its bubbles ant tips still has colour. Its eating well and opens up huge. The disc was a nice green colour. Will it colour up again? How often should I feed? Its under a ufo zetlight 8000.
Blues at 80%
Whites at 40%
Green+Violet+Uv at 70%
Red and yellow 40%
Lights peak at this % from 10:00 until 15:00

Thanks guys would love for it to colour up again. When its deflated under blues you can still see the green

What is your photo period?
What are your water parameters?
How long have you had the nennie?
How often do you feed? What do you feed?
Do you supplement any amino acids?
Are you running carbon?

Lights come on at 8:00 in the morning.
They're at peak from 10:00 until 15:00. Max 90%. Some corals still stretching towards light.
Then ramp down until 18:00.
Its been in my tank for about 3 months.

Ammonia and nitrite:0
Salinity: 1024
Phosphates: 0
Nitrates: less than 10ppm
Alkalinity: 7
Ph: 8
Running no carbon
Do 15% weekly waterchange.
No dosing.
Feed small piece of either prawn uncooked, mussels or brine shrimp twice per week

Thanks for the reply

The method i use to recover bleached nennies is to ensure they get maximum nutrition.

I added carbon to remove impurities in the water and to keep the water clear so (in my mind) the light will be brighter.
I feed my tank coralific delight every 2nd day( i do not spot feed) however the bleached nennie i will feed a little bit of the coralific paste once a week.

My tanks also have a slow release amino acid in the form of Orcas XtraX cubes.

Also when i refer to a bleached BTA they are normally neon pink or almost completely white.

The one below was from 14/04 till 24/05

Thank you for your great advice! Im always scared that if I use purigen it will kill my softcorals. Will give the amino acids a go

Goodmorning! Got some reefplus and carbon. Its nice and bubbly and eating well. When its deflated its got such nice colouration. If only I could get the green on the disc to return. The tips and bubbles still look good. Thanks for caring
