bubbles on dsb

    Hi,

    iv got cheato in my sump,with lotsa brown growth on the dsb.
    now today i see sum bubble growth on the dsb?
    cant seem to take a nice clear pic.....

    is this good or bad,if bad,how do i get rid of it?

    Looks like Cyano bacteria, often gets bubbles under it - better pic would help

    good and bad. bad cos it is saying there is a problem. good cos at least you know and can do something about it.

    cyano says excess of phosphates and possibly silicates. not enough flow over dsb and possibly too much light. as well as dsb not being mature enough to handle the bio load of the tank

    how do i increase the flow in the sump?add a powerhead to the 1st chamber?
    i have 2 energy saver lights in the sump for the ATS that is hangin over the dsb.
    or do i put a snail on the dsb?
    any advise?

    to up the flow in th sump / DSB you must get a higher rated return pump. What is your current return pump rated at in litres? I am using a 4500l/h pump as a return and it is fine for my setup.

    what flow do you have inside your DT? You should aim for around 30-40x DT volume

    i have a Astro2900L/ph return pump on my 1,2X600X600 tank.ihave 2X3000lph sun sun powerhead,another powerhead of 2500lph.
    not sure how to work out the turnaround time in the tank,can anyone help?
