What is the price on the dc bubble magus skimmers?is that not a setting that can be changed..would be a schlep to have to restart it manually everytimeRunning a BM Curve-D8 (is a DC pump version) - quiet as a mouse...Only thing i don't like about it is it doesn't restart if power is lost & then resumes, you have to manually restart it...some seem to like that feature - i don't (my return pump is on online power backup)

Something does not sound right here. I got an ATI skimmer with DC pump. It does not switch back on directly either, takes its time. It is a feature for sumps where the water level rises and normally would result in a flooded skimmer cup. Now the sump level can first reset to the running level before the skimmer restart.Other BM DC pumps do also i believe but the control box between the 2 ain't interchangable.
Shutting down a few hours for coral feeding ain't possible unless you manually remember to turn it back on

How do you restart it? power switch off and on and then it runs?
Something is not right pumps should turn on automatically. Do the pumps not have feed mode?
I do not know BM skimmers that well, but I'm sure it should restart at some point. Sure your controller is not faulty. Any other BM guys out there? When power is returned the BM controller lights up in Standby mode & you have to hit the dial or it won't start up.

I am really close to buying the curve 7 skimmer. Please excuse my ignorance but is it a big issue that they don't kick in automatically after a power failure? Obviously if your away for a significant period f time it's a problem but will a couple of hours make much difference. I only ask because theyre pretty expensive and if there's s better alternative I need to consider it.
