@RiaanP 's anemone also split about 2 weeks ago about 4 days after adding it!
Yes, it is normal for a bta to split either if its very happy, or stressed.
How long have you had the bta?

Could be stress, we had a scheduled power outage that no one but eThekwini knew about. I need to invest in an inverter @Wesd nothing is moved yet, I need to put some extra sand and liverock into the new tank before anything goes in.

Yes, it did. The one sits on top of the rock, and the other hangs underneath an overhang. And it stays there. Both still looks the same, so its not as if the one is bleaching due to no light. It is just happy to park in the shade.

I have had mine for two years and it has split twice.
Once was definately due to stress, from tank getting extremely cold and the other time there was no notable stress.
If the power went out maybe it was that.

Then it might be from the power outage!
As long as they both look happy, it should be ok! (Obviously, lol)
Just keep an eye on them for a while!

General consensus (NOT hard and fast rule) is that if they split and clones stay close then the split is not due to stress but if the clone moves away from the mother then it was unhappy and wants to relocate due more to survival instinct .... Maybe @Anemone can shed more light on this behaviour

Mine both moved away, but after moving them back many times they seem to be staying now.

I think my tamatoes did the trick for me ... They snuggled so much that the poor nemmie decided to spread the love around ...
