Hi guys, i got a galaxy coral in my tank and im thinkin of gettin a bubble tip anemone, once i upgrade my lighting (i currently have 5x t5 @ a total of 270w and 2x t8s @ a total of 80w So that's 350w in total, So i might as well go 4 some MHs and keep 2x t5s).

Now my question. Will there be any problem wit a BTA and a galaxy coral should the nemie decide to take a strolle near the galaxy, or plomp him self next to the galaxy?

Galaxy Corals are very aggressive, but that is against other corals. The BTA would probably do more damage to the Galaxy if it touched it.

The Galaxy is tough as nails, so would take some time for the nemmie to kill it off, and hopefully you would have moved the coral before that.

Eish So it wont jst sting and injure it, it'l die off. Man, u jst partly shattered a dream of mine, but i guess u have a point i could move the galaxy, or just sell it off coz i initially wanted a softie set up. Would the nemie sting my softies should he cross paths

Nemmie's sting anything they come in contact with including human hands;)

Only Clownfish, Porcelain Crabs and certain Nemmie shrimps are immune to the poison

PS: Anemones especially BTA, should not be walking around.

I have a tank with 2 x Crispa and they have never moved or stung my corals in over 2 years. So make sure your tank is suitable (especially lighting) and then your corals will all be good ;)

As Warr says, very aggressive corals that pack one hell of a sting and their sweeper tentacles can apparently stretch about 20cm's. I have seen my ones sweepers about 10cm's so be careful where you place your Galaxy coral.

Mine often gets to 200mm, no prob. The interesting thing I have noticed compared to other LPS, is it's sweepers are out 24/7, maybe this why it get's the aggressive tag ?

Possibly, although mine are not out 24/7 I notice they do come out quite often both daytime and nightime, so they have their own little home far away in the corner of the tank.

Oh hell No! So that'l mean, like takin out all the softies then put the nem in till he finds a prime location. Na i think i'l pass on the BTA for now, and i done a lil research on them and seems like they more for the experience nemie keeper. Is there any other nemie similar to a BTA that wont trouble my galaxy and softies?
