    Hi Guys,

I am currently treating my tank for Bryopsis that i must have gotton from a frag from my local store.

After reading the info on here i am following the rules of raising the Mg to above 1600...as per the thread my Kh dropped to about 6.5 from 8.0 dKH and my Ca rose to about 580 from 500.

After about a week of testing every second day the Mg slowly rose to 1600....and then bam, today it dropped to 1470...am i doing something wrong?

    my other perameters are
    Temp 25
    Amonia 0
    No2 0
    No3 1
    Kh 6.4
    Ca 580
    Mg 1470
    Po4 0
    Salinity 1.0256

    Thanks in Advance

No you not, you bang on, remember calcium requires mg to bind and the calcium increase could be the reason for the decrease in Mg, keep dosing and maintaing your level at the suggested level.

Make sure what you dosing does not have calcium in it as well.....

    Thanks @mytank :)

I am using Advanced Mg from seachem for the Mg and then Reef builder to raise the alkalinity. From what i understood it was better to use a Mg supplement that had Chloride vs sodium ?

Yup correct, the drop you see is normal. When I get a swing like that i:
    1. Check expire date of test kit
    2. Make sure testing kit is clean
    3. Do four tests one after the other and take an average

Let me know or just call me tomorrow. How the fishies doing ?

    Shap @mytank.

All the above i did, but only tested twice each :)

The new additions are doing well
    Fatman chomping like a champ,
Wrasse (aka The doc) eating brine
Scopus (aka Zorba) now eating :)

    Thanks
