I am running bio cubes
Low stocked tank
Running phosphate remover
RO water is @ 0 tds
Reduced the light cycle to 5 hours a day

Can any body help me to send me in the right direction

how old is the Rock/substrate? it may be leaching the required nutrients required for it's growth, have you tried cooking method on the LR have you also tried some sort of algae scrubber.

I have not tried the cooking method what does that intel

the LR was dead rock and been sitting in the sun for a few years

It includes taking the rock out the display, giving it a good scrub and dropping in a bucket, suspended, with lots of turbulence/flow and every day for the next 4-6 weeks do a water change, keep it at a fair temperature around 24.5 to 24.7 Degrees C until the GHA dies off and all the excess nutrients within the rock have been (hopefully) removed, otherwise rinse and repeat.

i was having issues with GHA and i was initially going to work on the UAS as found on this site, that didnt work for me due to the minimal space in a nano.

I eventually found a way to control it by building a mini fuge.

what i've learned about GHA so far is that you need to out compete it for everything it needs to thrive.
