Your tank may not be compleley cycled yet, what are your readings? I also went through a slight diatom outbreak when my tank was cycling. Get a cleam up crew, some turbo snails and hermit crabs, remember to acclimate all living things you add to your tank

diatoms! No worry, they go eventually and you are supposed to get them. I only got diatoms like 3months after starting the tank lol. You need to run a phosphate reduction media like sea chem phosguard as diatoms feed off the silica and phosguard removes phosphates and silica :)

i had an algea scrubber running in the back of the tank but its been off for 2 3 days now. MAYBE THATS WHY!!! . I put it back on now, its a new scrubber tho, still catching on.
Damn its heartbreaking! and i was JUST about loving how perfect my tank was going

Lol dude, you gota wait for your tank to mature, it'll take a while and it'll go away, its all part of it maturing.

Diatoms feed off silica if I remember correctly. Do you have any corals?

you can shorten your light cycle if you want but I just left mine. Eventually the diatoms die. As I said its all perfectly natural :)
